The MLB Draft is in the books (1st round was pretty exciting!). As soon as the first name was called (surprise pick by the O's but I'm not mad), hot takes and draft grades started to pour into the online discourse. I can't be too judgemental (I mean, I'm literally writing a newsletter aimed at talking about the draft) but I'm always leery of immediately "grading" a draft or writing "who won/loss the draft" articles and the like. It always seems to be in bad faith; the franchises that are seen as models of continuity & success generally get rated highly no matter what, while the teams that repeatedly find themselves treading water end up at bottom of the totem pole. It just doesn't seem to be very informative as a dynasty manager and definitely isn't enjoyable to read.So with that said, I figured why not mix a little fun with some opinions and hand out 10 superlatives for the 2022 MLB Draft.
